Children’s Ministry of Community Baptist Church (CBC)

CBC Children’s Ministry adheres to the principle that children have a very special place in God's kingdom. In Matthew 19:14, Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

Activities

During every celebration, the children will be seated in front of the church where they will join in the worship. After the worship, the children will adjourn to their own classes for their lessons. Lessons include an icebreaker or game, the teaching of God's word and craft. Skits, puppets, flannel-graph, object lessons, quizzes are some of the methods we use to teach the lesson. Children are also encouraged to memorise verses.

Field trips and visits to Children’s Homes are also organised.

As an incentive, points are given to the children. These points can be redeemed for gifts or vouchers. Redemption of points is 3 times a year.

Time

Children's Church is held at the same time as the adult congregation at every centre.

Grouping

The children are grouped into 3 or 4 classes according to their ages.

Teachers

Teachers are committed members of CBC and come in on a voluntary basis. Many are mothers of young children and therefore have hands-on experience in dealing with children. Teachers and helpers are also encouraged to attend Children’s Ministry Training Programmes for equipping. Duties are allocated on a rotation basis. Each class has between 1 to 4 teachers/helpers, depending on the size of the group.

The CBC Children’s Ministry Coordinator is Suzie Lo. The Head for each centre is Suzie Lo (SEA-Park), Kathleen Ngui (SEA-Park Chinese), Elaine Tan (Sunway-Subang), Chong Tau Fan (Puchong), Audrey Ho (Kota D’sara) and Joe Ng (Jinjang).

Special events

Birthday parties are held 3 times a year to celebrate the children's birthdays.
Christmas parties are held every end of the year.

Discovery Days are held yearly and is opened to non believers. God's word is taught and other activities are organised for the two-day session. Memory verse competition is held at each centre.

Intergenerational cell

The word that is taught on Sunday is further reinforced during the cell group time.
