Jesus
restored my daughter’s vision
This is a testimony on healing. On the 10th of April 2008, while I was away in Thailand for work, I received an SMS from my wife saying “Right eye 100, left 275. Advised see ophthalmologist for accuracy at her young age”. It was about my 6 year-old daughter, Adalia. She was at our neighborhood optometrist, accompanying my domestic helper who went there for an eye check. Out of fun, Adalia went for an eye check and found out the above condition.
When I read that SMS, my first thought was, “No Lord. Not her. Not at this age. She has lovely eyes like me and she shouldn’t be wearing spectacles at this age”. So, I returned text to my wife and told her to wait for me to get back for a proper eye examination by an ophthalmologist.
I managed to get an appointment with an ophthalmologist at the Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital on 24th April. Meanwhile, I started to pray with my daughter. I praised her for her lovely eyes and told her that she was too young to wear spectacles. I asked her to believe with me that Jesus Christ has taken our all diseases when He died on the cross. That includes her eye condition.
One afternoon, I explained to her on Isaiah 53: 4-5. After praying on that promise, I asked her to close her left eye and see only with her right eye. Mimicking the optometrist, I tested her vision. She could identify some alphabets correctly but not all.
The day came when I
took her to the Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital. Before we
alighted from
the car, we again prayed that the examination would indicate favorable
result.
I asked her if she believed that Jesus Christ had healed her.
With child-like
faith she responded with a YES.
It took us nearly 2 hours, including waiting, for the ophthalmologist to examine her eyes. This included putting eye drop to dilate the pupils and re-examination. In between these she was also sent to the hospital in-house optometrist for eye testing. Finally, we were back in the consultation room with the ophthalmologist and the eye test results from the optometrist. The result – right eye 50 and left eye 50, which was considered normal for a child. There is no need for spectacles! Hallelujah all glory and praise to Jesus.
Note:
An ophthalmologist is a physician who specializes in the medical and surgical care of the eyes and visual system and in the prevention of eye disease and injury.
An optometrist is not a medical doctor like an ophthalmologist but a doctor of optometry or OD. An OD diagnoses and treats vision problems, eye diseases and related conditions, and prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications to treat eye disorders.
