Touch Dialysis Centre now fully functional in Kota Damansara

We praise God that Touch Dialysis Centre, a community outreach arm of Community Baptist Church, is now ready for operation. This provides us with wonderful opportunities to show Christ’s love to the community. In providing quality haemodialysis care, we would be able to reach out to the kidney failure patients, their families and their ‘oikoses.’ The following are the significant events that took place from the initial planning, the incorporation of the society, Persatuan Dialysis Touch, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, until the operation of the Touch Dialysis Center:-

29th April, 2006 The Pro-Tem Management Committee met for the first time.

17th May, 2006 An application to register Persatuan Dialisis Touch Petaling Jaya, Selangor was submitted to Pendaftar Pertubuhan, Malaysia.

06th Nov., 2006 Pendaftaran Pertubuhan, Malaysia approved our application.

22nd Dec., 2006 An application (Borang A) was made to Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia for the setting up of a dialysis centre.

23rd Dec., 2006 Pendaftaran Pertubuhan, Malaysia released the Certificate of Incorporation during a certificate presentation ceremony.

04th Jan., 2007 Members of the Persatuan held their 1st Annual General Meeting.

12th Feb., 2007 Fundraising started with donation appeals through brochures

06th Apr., 2007 Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya released to us the letter approving renovation works for the premises.

08th Apr.,2007 Awareness campaign and fundraising through charity sale of food and souvenir items during Easter Sunday.

21st Apr., 2007 Renovation works commenced.

07th Jul., 2007 Flower Sales at CBC, Church House, P.J organized by Watchman 7 supported by various cell groups to raise funds.

16th July, 2007 Renovation works completed and handing over of centre by the Contractor.

18th Jul., 2007 RO Water Filtration System Installed.

24th Jul., 2007 The Board of Management approved the staging of “A Night of Classical Enchantment” featuring Foo Mei Yi and the Young Musicians.

01st Aug., 2007 Two Units of Reprocessors installed.

07th Aug., 2007 Mock cheque presentation by “The Edge-Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Rat Race 2007” for RM78,248.25

08th Aug, 2007 5 (Five) units of Dialysis Machines installed.

12th Aug., 2007 Charity Dinner organized by our CBC Puchong Centre, which netted RM66,175.00.

24th Aug., 2007 Submitted an application (Borang 3) to Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia for a licence to operate the dialysis Center.

09th Sep., 2007 A Health Carnival was held at CBC Kota Damansara Centre. A guided tour of the dialysis Center was conducted for visitors.

15th Sep., 2007 The staging of the Piano Concert saw very encouraging response. Ticket sales, advertisement and contributions netted a total of RM84,469.40.

24th Oct., 2007 Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia released the licence approving the operation of the dialysis center.

12th Nov., 2007 Registered with National Renal Registry.

16th Nov., 2007 Submitted applications to Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (Finance’s Department) for patients’ subsidy and capital grant.

17th Nov., 2007 Submitted an application to PERKESO to be a panel member.

01st Dec., 2007 Admitted the first patient to be dialyzed at the Center.

January, 2008 Ministry of Health approved our application for Patients’ subsidy. For those who qualify, the subsidy is RM50.00, and the patient only pays RM60.00 per session.

February, 2008 Ministry of Health approved our application for machinery and equipment grants. A total of RM315,530.00 was reimbursed to us. PERKESO (or SOCSO) approved our application to be their panel member. With this approval, SOCSO patients will receive a subsidy of RM110.00 per session.

March – April, ’08 As at March 31, we had 16 patients. In April, this grew to 18 patients. When we reach 20 patients in early May, we intend to start a second shift.

As a non-profit charitable organization, Persatuan Dialisis Touch Petaling Jaya, Selangor’s ability to help the unfortunate kidney failure patients depends very much on the compassion and generosity of Malaysian corporate bodies and the general public. Through their generous and continuous contributions, the Center now has eleven units of dialysis machines, one complete line of reverse osmosis water filtration system, three units of reprocessors, one set of emergency equipment and other related equipments installed. The Center is now fully functional and the first patient was admitted on 1st December, 2007. To all donors, contributors, sponsors and all who have helped us in one way or another, our deepest appreciation and heartfelt thanks to you. May the Almighty God bless you.
