TESTIMONIES
This is the Hope that Sustains Me
~~~~~
Three months of studies at Tung Ling Bible College - what pressured me most was the test after each subject was taught. For my age, to remember all that I studied and be tested was a real challenge. I consider my graduation a miracle from the Lord. Hallelujah! I have a break through!
Praise and thanks be to God that I can sing Heavenly Praises to Him everyday. After the passing of Philip, my husband, I discovered his last sermon which he prepared but was not able to preach as he had to be admitted to the hospital that day. He quoted this passage from Ephesians 1: 3-9. “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will – to the praise of his glorious grace, which, he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to His good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ….”
Philip’s life had always carried the message of a “Purpose Driven Life” to be shared or preached. Now he is rejoicing and singing praises in heaven. How jealous I am and this is the Hope that sustains me. It keeps me going because I know, one day, we will meet again!
“Whatever happened, happened. We can’t remake our past. But with God we can handle the past. With God, whatever has happened in the past need not destroy us. Of course, we’ll face, and many times reap, the consequence of the past. But for the child of God there is HOPE. No matter what has happened in our background, with God there is grace, peace and hope, if we’ll run to Him and bring every past disappointment captive to faith in His Words.”– Kay Arthur
“Victory begins with the name of Jesus on our lips. It is consummated by the nature of Jesus in our Heart. The purpose of all aspects of spirituality, warfare included, is to bring us into the image of Christ. Nothing, not worship nor warfare, neither love nor deliverance, is truly attainable if we miss the singular objective of our faith: Christlikeness.” - Francis Frangipane
I have to press on and proclaim Col 1: 28 - “We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end, I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.” Amen!
