At the Congress, the Church’s new vision was cast by Senior Pastor Richard.
“A Passionate Community of Christ’s disciples, Committed to the Greatest Commandment, fulfilling the Great Commission.”
He explained each portion of the vision. To help the members grasp it, Elder Tan Beng Teong set each center to do a practical. At the end of the session, the centers were able to articulate the corporate CBC vision into their individual congregations, and align their congregational vision to the corporate vision.
To enhance this visually, a giant domino of seven centers was constructed. (The extra two represented two more centers CBC will be planting in the near future. Be praying for this to happen!) These were linked to the CBC corporate logo. The exercise ended with the triggering of the first domino brick which knocked down every brick until the last brick of the corporate logo, signifying our connection with each other, and our commitment to one another to achieve the vision God has given us.
March 8, 2008, also marked a turning point of our nation. God’s children had prayed for change in our government, and God answered our prayers. May the Lord raise up leaders who are just, righteous and honest to rule our land.
Spiritually, the window of opportunity for the gospel to spread is here. As God’s children, we need to seize the hour. As the Lord said, while it is day, we must work, for night will come when all work will cease.
CBC has many openings in ministry and missions for all to be involved. We pray that all members will unite to see the fulfillment of CBC’s vision. May we impact our communities for Christ’s sake. This also extends to our brothers and sisters in India, China and Myanmar. We especially pray for our friends in Myanmar who were affected by the devastation of cyclone Nargis. Our hearts go to you and we pray the help we have to offer will relieve you in some ways.
As we see the events unfolding in the world today, we cannot but acknowledge we are living in the last days. May we be found faithful in serving until Christ comes again.
Be steadfast and immovable.
AGAPE,
Pat Toh
