We give all praise to our Almighty God, our Lord and savior Jesus Christ and the ever present Holy Spirit. A year ago my daughter Eunice was diagnosed with Spondilytis and Scoliosis which is L5 of the lumbar has fallen out of its position and thus causes scoliosis which is the curvature of the spine.
 
Due to her condition she walked with a bend to her knees as well as hunching her body to compensate for pressure that was imposed on her body by the condition of her spine.
 
We were devastated and prayed for a miraculous healing for her because her condition, according to all the orthopedic surgeons, needs surgery to correct. We are very blessed because we have a family in Christ that not only upholds us in prayers but supports us with their physical presence and encouragement. The doctors also told us that from the evidences and reports from the X-Ray, CT scan and MRI, Eunice’s condition was congenital (i.e. a birth defect.) This would mean that we will not be able to use the insurance to pay for her surgery. But Diana and I were convinced that Sons are a heritage from the Lord and children a reward from Him (Psalms 127:3) and she was made perfect (Psalms 139: 13-14) which says:-
 
 
This one whole year was a year of trusting and obeying Him. We thank the Great I AM for as I looked back, everything was in His hand. To tell the truth, as we claimed His promises in 1Peter 5:7, “Cast all your anxieties on HIM, for HE cares about you” I still had a lot of reservations but thanks be to GOD, my wife Diana would continue to hold GOD to HIS promises. I would not have waited for one full year before letting her go for the operation. I would have done it much earlier. But that was not GOD’S will for her. Jesus used the situation for HIS purpose to witness to our family. They were astonished at the manner the whole body of Christ came together and supported us.
 
We continued to hold GOD to his promises of healing, especially Isaiah 55:5:-
 
As the days drew near for Eunice’s surgery, God blessed us with His love from you all. HE poured out HIS love to us through the whole church. I was really humbled by that love gift for I did not want to receive it because I did not want to burden anyone. But Jesus spoke to me in a small still voice: “Why are you rejecting my love for Eunice? Why shut the door of your heart to accepting my love?” That really broke me and at that moment I felt His love flowing in me. My wife reminded me of what Pastor Malcolm shared from his experience that all gifts are from HIM…… Amen.
 
On the 10^th July 2007, as Eunice was admitted to Assunta Hospital for her operation, we claimed and held on to GOD promises for strength in Isa 41: 10 – “Fear not for I AM with you. Be not dismayed for I AM your GOD. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”
 
The doctors briefed us on what will be done for her and told us all the risks and pains that she will have to endure after the surgery. What really pains us and made us surrender everything to GOD was when Dr. Chong told us that the Dora Sac, which was currently compressed, might leak or puncture and also the nerve that controlled her big toe may be at risk of damage during the operation. Dr.Assunta also briefed us that after the surgery, Eunice would need morphine to relieve her pain. We really mixed our fried rice and noodles with tears during dinner as we thought and feared about the situation.
 
11^th July 2007 came. God’s love and your presence helped us to wheel her into the operating theatre. She cried asking not to go through the surgery. Again we claimed Isaiah 41:10.
 
The surgery started at 1230hrs and the presence of the church was so important; otherwise, it would have been such an agonizing and long wait for her. At 1630hr I, being the inpatient one, went to the doctor’s clinic but was told that he was still in the operating theatre. The nurse called the operating theatre and thank GOD, Dr. Chong who had just completed the surgery answered the phone and asked the inpatient father to see him. I met him and he told me everything was fine and the surgery went well and there was no damage to the Dora Sac or nerve. Hallelujah! Praise God. I went and informed my wife and the church and we rejoiced over it. That was not all that GOD wanted us to rejoice because as I went to be with her in the operating theatre, I met Dr Chong again and he told me that her condition was not congenital as he found out that the lumber 5 was loose and honestly, I don’t understand what he meant at all. But one thing I know that GOD was in control!  The doctor said he will prepare a report for us to claim from the insurance. Hallelujah! All praise to HIM.
 
Every part of the ‘jigsaw’ fell in place and we were able to see GOD’s controlling hand in Eunice’s life. The word of the Lord in Isaiah 55 became very clear to us and I really felt I have betrayed GOD’s love when I did not fully commit everything unto HIM.
 
 
GOD’s words above opened up a new revelation of HIS love and CHRIST’s sacrifice for me and my family. Everything has been taken care of by HIM the very moment she was diagnosed with this problem. How we met Karen Mak at Subang Medical Center, when we join brother Mak Chee Meng’s cell group until her operation has been prearranged by our GOD, HIS SON and the HOLY SPIRIT.
 
Again we give HIM all praises and glory for all that HE has done for Eunice. She was always in good hands and the LORD took all her pains and healed her. Again we thank GOD and HIS church, which is you, our beloved brothers and sisters, for all your love in CHRIST which you showered upon us. For all of you really made the word of GOD in 1John 4:7-12 living as you love us;
 
“7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love comes from GOD. Everyone who loves has been born of GOD and knows GOD.  8 Whoever does not love does not know GOD, because GOD is love.  9 This is how GOD showed HIS love among us: HE sent HIS one and only SON into the world that we might live through HIM. 10 This is love: not that we love GOD, but that HE loved us and sent HIS SON as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
11 Dear friends, since GOD so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen GOD; but if we love one another, GOD lives in us and HIS love is made complete in us.”
