It’s eleven months into the Year of Abundance for CBC. Have we experienced God’s abundance? The answer has to be, YES!

Reading through the articles contributed by our members, we see God’s hand in their experiences, and how God is slowly but surely shaping us to be more like Him.

One common passage we read of Adundance is John 10:10. Recently, I had a new insight to that verse and it is linked to John 2 when Jesus turned water into wine marking the beginning of His ministry. This remarkable miracle speaks of how our Lord does things – He believes in Quantity as well as Quality.

There were six waterpots of stone at the wedding venue, each possibly has a 30 gallon capacity, meant for washing. Jesus asked these to be filled to the brim. Wouldn’t one or two pots be sufficient? No. When God blesses, He does it with abundance! That’s quantity!

How about the quality of the wine? It was GOOD; in fact, it was the BEST the master of feast had ever tasted! “You’ve saved the best for last!” he exclaimed.

Did not Jesus tell us that He has come so that we can have our lives to the full? What is the key? Mary, the mother of Jesus merely said to the servants at the wedding, “Whatever He says to you, DO IT.”(Emphasis added because it was a desperate situation. No wine left!)

Do we wait until we are desperate to turn to Jesus? The abundant life is there for us to take by just obeying our Lord. The full life is that of His – His very own life, flowing in and through us.

God didn’t have to fill our lives to overflowing….and yet, He made it available to all of us. He shared His character, His strength, and His joy with us. O, what a wonderful Savior!

At the ABF Congress (page 3) we met saints who had undergone tremendous trials and experiences in the mission field. They shared sad, sad stories, but the common thread that wove in each story was our Lord coming through for them. Victims of circumstances, but Victors in Christ. Their secret? It’s living a life that is rooted in God alone.

CBC’s missions thrust took us to India, China and Myanmar. We thank God for allowing our teams to experience great exploits like, planting a church in Chennai, impacting young lives in Guangzhou, and raising leaders in Yangon. It was by faith CBC ventured out, as with all missions, nothing is really certain. It’s God’s way of plunging us outside our comfort zone to experience Him at work. That’s exciting! That’s seeing the abundance He has in store for us!

We praise God for healing little Eunice of her spine problem. God’s children were one in prayer for her – members from other centers rallied. Unity pleases our Lord. We are one church with many centers, with one root-system bound by the Holy Spirit. May we continue to care for one another and bring glory to Him, who died and gave His life for us.

ABUNDANT

AGAPE,
