A Sending Church – CBC is shaping to become a Mission-minded church. This year alone, many teams have gone overseas as well as to the local mission field. We encourage more members to make an effort to GO and experience what God has called us to do.

Moses, in Deut.2:31 recorded God’s instruction: “Look, I have begun to hand King Sihon and his land over to you. Begin now to conquer and occupy his land.” God often waits for us. He has already paved the way. Why do we keep Him waiting? Abraham obeyed God, and he went from Ur to where God called him to go. How else can he receive God’s blessings if he didn’t move?

Every report from those who returned from missions gave glory to God. Even though inconveniences were experienced, none ever declared he would never go again. Instead, they asked to go again, and again!

Since the birth of the Missions Task Force more than a year ago, I believe God has been stirring the hearts of our members for missions. In March this year, the CBC team returned to India for the 8th year. In August, two teams left for China and Myanmar. In between, various groups went into the Pahang jungles to visit the Orang Asli, and the flow has not stopped. October saw another group going to Central China – a new field, to teach and preach. We are praying that this impetus will gain momentum.

Jesus sent His disciples out in twos (Luke 10), He expected them to exercise faith. In going, the Holy Spirit came alongside them, performing miracles and converting souls. When they returned, they joyfully reported, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!” The obedience of the disciples brought joy to the Lord. God is still waiting for us.

In our recent trip to China, while traveling to a Bible School, we saw miles and miles of white cotton fields. It reminded me what our Lord said about the harvest. Truly it is ready, and we need to respond to God’s call.

CBC members living overseas encourage us with their testimonies of God’s goodness. This issue has letters from Nairobi, Abu Dhabi, Bengalore, Auckland, New York, Kansas City, and Chennai. Thank you for writing, and keep them coming.

On another note, a CBC pilot group completed Business by the Book – a Biblical Financial Study that helps people who are experiencing financial challenges. Not many know the Bible contains 2,350 verses dealing with money. In this pilot study, we discovered God’s interest in handling all our possessions. It has been practical, life-changing and has given us God’s perspective of our lives on earth. Read the testimonies of the group within.

As another Christmas approaches, may our hearts go out to the people who do not have the Good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. When we celebrate, remember what Nehemiah said: Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared.

May we love and share during this Christmas season.
