Discovery Days are here again!

CBC’s Vacation Bible School

November 24 & 25, 2006

Praise the Lord! VBS 2006 received God's blessing once again. Held simultaneously in the SEA-Park, Puchong and Subang centers, this was the exciting time of the year for every one of us in the Children's Ministry for both the children as well as the adults.

We had the privilege of playing host to the children from Rumah Hope. They were sponsored by some of our own generous members. Praise God for their kindness. Sharing God's love with these special children irrespective of class and creed, is what our Lord Jesus had shown us. It was also an opportunity for our children to show love. The children from the Home truly enjoyed themselves. A few of them even came forward and performed a dance spontaneously on stage.

The hot-dog rolls and fried wantan which the children made during the Living Skill session, were "yummy!" These were then served for their afternoon tea. It was a fun, hands on experience for these children. Later, Mr. Sporty the clown, had the children in stitches! The much anticipated outing to the zoo on the second day was welcome by all. With four big busloads full of children and adults, we arrived in time for both the elephant and the multiple animal shows. Timing was perfect! The weather was also wonderful. Due to the rainy season, we could only pray hard for favourable weather from Our Heavenly Father. Psalms 116:1 says:" I love the LORD, because He has heard my voice and my supplications." Jeremiah 33:3 says:"Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and hidden things which you have not known."

At the zoo, the children were drawn to God's wonderful creation and had an exciting and challenging time taking notes of their scientific names and the animal traits. These informative bits were used for the children's presentation- the final activity for the VBS.

With tired feet and a happy spirit, we made our journey back. At the centre the children were again kept occupied with the craft and the animal presentation session. Last but not least, everyone was given a prize.

Forty-eight children responded to the salvation invitation. Praise be to God! Many volunteered to help during these two days. Special thanks to all of you! God is good and faithful, all the time! All glory be unto Him!

See you at VBS 2007 for another wonderful time!
